Review

Three catalysts W15, W18 and W24 with different amounts of tungsten were synthesized and studied in the isomerization reaction of C5-C6 paraffins. Besides two more samples (1.5AW13 and 1.3AW16) with aluminium as a dopant were synthesized and tested. W24 was the most active catalyst (24 %wt. of WO3) in the isomerization of n-hexane with a conversion of 45.3 %wt. using hexane g.r. as a feedstock. The most active catalyst was also tested with industrial feedstock, n-hexane 99 %wt. and pentane 98 %wt. The use of 1.3 % wt. of Al as a dopant improved the activity of the catalyst 1.3AW16 compared to W15.
