Review

This study is focused on the applicability of the carbon and basalt fibres as a reinforcement material for high temperature resistant geopolymer composites. These were prepared from geopolymer matrix and from two types of carbon fabrics and one type of basalt fabric. Standard weave pattern was used in case of both – basalt and carbon fabrics. The carbon fabric was also used with flat-tow pattern. Tensile strength tests were performed on geopolymers prismatic specimens cured at temperatures ranging from 20 °C to 700 °C. Alkali resistance tests of basalt and carbon fibres were also carried out.
