The Project Development of the Research Infrastructure CATPRO (CATAMARAN) aims to strengthen the research infrastructure CATPRO in order to increase its competitiveness and the potential for international cooperative research, quality of this research and its results. The project includes the purchase of new experimental units and devices, building a workplace of imaging methods and support of its own research activities using the CATPRO infrastructure. The research will focus on the transformation of synthesis gas obtained by gasification of non-traditional raw materials, especially biomass, to chemicals which can be utilized mainly as components of modern fuels with emphasis on fuels for diesel engines. The outcome of the project will be the design of a specific variant of Fischer-Tropsch synthesis in combination with the process of cracking of high-molecular products and the recycling of some fractions.
The project Development of the research infrastructure CATPRO is co-financed by the European Union.
